My Favorite Restaurants and Things to Do in Cleveland

Looking to take a break this weekend, or any other day of the week? There are plenty of things to do in Cleveland, and whether you’re a recent transplant or you’ve lived here your whole life, there are almost certainly some spots you haven’t yet discovered.

Today, I’d like to share some of my favorite restaurants and other experiences in this wonderfully unique city.

Must-Try Cleveland Restaurants

Need a quick bite, or are you searching out something fancier? Either way, you might just find your new favorite restaurant among these:

Johnny’s Little Bar

Johnny’s Little Bar makes the best burger in town. Some might call it a “dive bar,” but it has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. It’s a fun place to go, and I like stopping in before sporting events or when I want to celebrate something good happening in my life.

Giovanni’s

If you’re looking for a night at a high-class restaurant, it doesn’t get any better than Giovanni’s. Menu highlights include exquisite seafood boards, smoked salmon, beautifully prepared pasta dishes, and top-of-the-line salads. And the atmosphere is absolutely lovely.

The Marble Room

Located in downtown Cleveland, The Marble Room is in an old bank, which creates a unique experience. The restaurant is best known for its steaks and raw bar, but the extensive menu includes sushi, house-made salads, seasonal seafood, and elevated takes on comfort-food classics like mac and cheese.

As someone who loves a good steak, I can tell you they do it quite well.

Yours Truly

Most days, I enjoy breakfast at the Yours Truly in Mayfield Village, and their poached eggs have become one of my dietary staples. The food is great and consistent, and as a bonus, whenever I pop in, I’m always treated like Norm from Cheers.

My Favorite Things to Do in Cleveland

Restaurants are always fun to explore, but if you’re hoping to get outside and explore more of what the city has to offer, these are three of my favorite spots to visit:

Catch a Game at the Ballpark

There’s just something about the ballpark for me. Win or lose, it’s always a happy place, and a hot dog and good company make it even better. Go Guardians!

Enjoy a Relaxing Day at the Lake

Sometimes you just need to take a break from thinking about investments and take in the beauty of nature. I often spend some time walking by the water just enjoying the views. It’s therapeutic for me, and I always leave feeling refreshed.

The lake is a serene space to walk or meditate, but if you prefer boating or fishing, it’s a beautiful place to do either.

Visit the Metroparks

The Metroparks are a true Cleveland gem. With 18 reservations spanning more than 25,000 acres, you can find trails, eight separate lakefront parks, nature preserves, Native American historical sites, fishing spots, and picnic areas.

You can find the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo here too, which houses more than 3,000 animals in diverse and realistic habitats.

Cleveland’s Metroparks also include nine golf courses. My favorite is Sleepy Hollow.
